What the heck is this stuff??

Logan turned 12 weeks old today and it always amazes me how much older he seems. He is such a happy baby, and I’m sure Brian can agree with me when I say we are two extremely lucky parents. He cries when he’s tired and will start to fuss if we are a little late in feeding him. All the other time he is pretty much content. I can’t get over how lucky we are. Having a baby brings lots of new things into parents lives, and I mean things you never thought would be very interesting. Here’s one example…Logan has always been a ) and he is now eating close to 6 ounces every 3 hours..for those of you who don’t think that’s a lot..well it is…ha…that’s a lot of formula we go through….so I decided to risk it and without the approval of his pediatrician start giving him a little bit of cereal before bed. At first he wasn’t grasping the concept of swallowing it too well, but then he caught on pretty well. Infact, he thought it was kinda funny as you can see from the pictures. This is super exciting to me as a mom….maybe it’s because it’s my first baby, or maybe it’s just because it means he’s growing up, and while I’d rather him not grow up so quickly I can’t wait for him to be able to interact with us more…it’s bound to be lots of fun!

Hi Ho..Hi Ho...it's off to work I go...

I went back to work on Monday, the day I didn’t think I would dread until it actually came. I heard such horror stories about moms crying all day after dropping their child off at daycare because they can’t imagine leaving them for that long along, or with strange people for that matter. I must be a rotten mom because even though I hated the fact that I had to leave him, I didn’t feel horrible. I didn’t cry all the way to work, and I didn’t even call during the day.. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Logan is in good hands having my mom with him at the daycare all day, or maybe its just because I know I can’t be a stay at home mom and things could be different and I could have to drop him off with a bunch of strange people I didn’t really know, but I’m smart enough to know how lucky I am…and I’m so thankful that things worked out the way they did! On a different note Logan had his 2 month appt this morning and weighed in at a whopping 13.8lbs and 23 ¾ inches. He’s getting so big..and he was quite a showoff for the doctor when she put him on his stomach and he lifted his entire chest off the table and looked around….He was talking away until his shots came..poor guy! We had the option of holding him while they gave the shots or letting the nurse hold him, and I wanted to have one of us holding him since well, we are his parents and should be there to comfort him, but I just couldn’t do it…but Brian was the brave one and stood up to the challenge and helped him out…aside from a little leg discomfort he did really well. I love dr. appts because I love seeing how big he is getting. Next appt in 8 weeks!!!

Here is my third attempt at keeping family and friends updated on our new family. It’s much easier than updating our picture sites on a regular basis, mainly because I take more pictures than I care to discuss and the time it takes to upload is ridiculous and also because I can’t really comment and describe how much Logan is changing by just showing the pictures…. So hopefully here both Brian and I can update on the status of our family and friends and family from out of town can see how things are going and leave us comments if the mood strikes them. So let me start by saying that our little boy is now 2 months old today and wow has he sure has changed since birth…as the pictures below will show you. He is talking—well baby talking (cooing and shrieking) more than ever these days and loves giving us these huge wide mouth smiles. I don’t know if he is aware of what he is laughing at yet, but it sure is cute nonetheless. So keep coming back regularly and I'm sure we will have plenty of updates for you!
